SUMMARY:

Assists with the Planning and facilitating of construction projects for PBPN commercial and residential buildings. This position will assist the Construction Manager, and other PBPN departments and will provide hands-on, start to finish project management and oversight for the construction or remodeling of commercial and residential buildings, roads, infrastructure and other requested projects. Assists with Coordinating new and on-going projects to ensure timely completion of all projections.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all minimum requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Four years of construction experience or two years' experience as a construction project manager or site superintendent
  • And/or two years of drafting experience of construction projects (i.e. CAD, REVIT, etc.)
  • Journeyman licensure of any construction trade (i.e. Electrical, plumbing, Mechanical Framing) or Certificate of completion of drafting, engineering, architecture
  • Must possess an extreme understanding of schematics, construction drawings, project specifications
  • Must possess knowledge of all building trades (i.e. concrete, framing, MEP, roofing, etc.)
  • Must possess ability to communicate professionally; both orally and in writing with a service-oriented approach, sometimes in stressful circumstances
  • Must possess ability to manage multiple construction projects simultaneously
  • Must possess a valid Kansas driver's license and be insurable with the Nation's insurance
  • Must possess a general knowledge of construction systems, and heavy equipment and machinery operations
  • Must possess professional work ethics, manner, and appearance
  • Must possess the ability to operate general office equipment, including but not limited to: 10-key calculator, telephone, computer and operating systems, computer software programs (Microsoft Office programs), fax/copier machine
  • Must possess the ability to maintain an effective working relationship with employee, vendors, Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and other agencies.
  • Must be reliable, punctual and dependable in order to meet the needs of the department and Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation, and be available to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the position.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Six years of construction experience, or Four years' experience as a project manager or site superintendent
  • And/or four years of drafting experience of construction projects
  • Associates Degree in Construction Management or Construction trade, or Master Licensure of any construction trade (i.e., Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Framing, etc.)
