Kaiser Permanente's Construction department has immediate openings in NCAL for experienced Construction Project Engineers. Candidates will have 1 - 3+ years' experience in general construction with an emphasis on medical and institutional construction. Must be competent in providing pre-con services, technical support, project scheduling, and contract document coordination to the construction team. Must be proficient in MS Excel and MS Word. MS Project and E-Builder a plus. \

Typical responsibilities and tasks include:

Plans and monitors on-site construction activities, maintaining liaison with architect/engineer and sub-contractors regarding project progress and changes. Ensures project activities comply with company and architectural/engineering requirements, providing an interpretation of the design and application of construction methods.

Generate Subcontract Requests/Single-Source Requests; make recommendations for modifications, additions, and attachments on Subcontracts.

Creates and writes subcontracts based on bid proposals and documents provided by Cost Engineering. Verifies accuracy of information and availability of budget prior to contract issuance.

Participate in the development and tracking of complex construction schedules that reflect project scope, activity milestones, and critical tasks that ensure overall project completion.

Assist the Construction Manager and Project Superintendents in performing constructability reviews of project documents.

Assist the Construction Manager and Project Superintendent in the management of subcontracted trades from project inception (contract award) through closeout.

Generate all needed reports, RFI, and ASI logs for project meetings. Manage and expedite the submittal process. Submit shop drawings from two or more trades. Participate in the preparation and coordination of in-house drawings when required by job conditions.

Attend meetings and record meeting minutes.

Develop costs for project change orders, track through the approval process with Project Manager, Architect or Engineer of Record or Estimator and applicable state and local regulatory agencies.

Review and confirm subcontract billings. Make recommendations for subcontractor payment to the Construction Manager. Maintain project cost reports. Confirm that all labor charges, subcontractor payments, and vendor invoices are charged to the appropriate project and CSI. Review all project cost reports for accuracy.

Manage the RFI process and ensure as-builts are up to date by posting RFI's, change orders, and other changes to the contract document.

Develop project-specific quality control and use the plan to confirm that construction has been completed within the parameters of, and in compliance with contract documents.

Education

· Minimum High school diploma or GED required. · Minimum (2) years Jobsite experience

Preferred:

2- or 4-year Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business. · HCAi (OSHPD) Experience

Position is located in San Mateo County (South San Francisco or Redwood City)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
