Hopewell Health Centers is a nationally accredited federally qualified health and community mental health center with 23 sites across TEN counties throughout Southeastern Ohio (Athens, Franklin, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Perry, Ross, Vinton, and Washington). We are currently seeking two (2) Program Therapists to join our Nelsonville, OH team.

As the Program Therapist, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Therapist researches, develops, implements and evaluates group therapy/activity sessions for assigned group. Completes research on topic matters to ensure that the most up to date program is being developed for the group being covered
  • Facilitates the group with the assistance of a program Behavior Specialist who will be focused on addressing group behaviors and dynamics.
  • Completes and evaluates groups completed daily. Explores the need for adjustments in order to meet the needs of the clients within the group setting. Ensures the group is providing the tools to allow the clients opportunity to make progress in treatment.
  • Therapist completes correctly and submits in a timely manner per agency policy documentation, billing and required paperwork for group completed.
  • Therapist assists in addressing behaviors within the group setting, helping to maintain a regulated group during discussion/activity.
  • Assists Behavior Specialist in identifying the key Treatment Goals for the client as they associate with the clients ISP (Individual Service Plan). Treatment Goals will be evaluated and adjusted monthly at treatment team meetings to ensure that the most current issues and behaviors are being addressed with the client. * Attends and actively participates in group supervision meetings and planning sessions for the program.
  • Assists in other duties as assigned as it associates with group treatment.Individual Therapy
  • Therapist provides quality, person and family-centered, medically necessary, rehabilitative, culturally-competent therapy face-to-face with individuals, couples, families, and groups to include, but not limited to: diagnostic assessment and treatment of mental, emotional, and substance abuse disorders.
  • Therapist provides appropriate collateral and community contacts for coordination/linkage, advocacy, and crisis management to support medically necessary treatment goals of clients who exhibit severe mental disabilities and embraces mission statement to encourage increased engagement with clients.
  • Collaborates with person served and/or family/legal guardian, develops an individualized service plan (ISP) for each person in the program to achieve behavior change, increased quality of life, and the best outcomes possible for the people we serve. Generates a current, legible integrated clinical record (ICR), in which documentation reflects a clear clinical picture for assigned person served.
  • Maintains minimum acceptable billable expectations as designated by agency UR sheet and supervisor directives. Follows billing procedures as required by agency policy.
  • Completes correctly and submits in a timely manner per agency policy documentation, billing, time sheets, mileage, and, as required by supervisor(s) work and appointment schedules.
  • Attends as scheduled and participates in supervision, team meetings, professional development, First Aid/CPR training, DBMT training and serves on agency committees, as appropriate. Individual clinical supervision for licensure, one hour, one time weekly.
  • Group clinical supervision for therapy, one hour, one time weekly
  • Group clinical supervision with Behavior Specialist and Case Managers, one half hour one time weekly.
  • REACH staff meetings, one hour one time weekly.
  • DBMT- initial full day course and update training every 6 months, as scheduled by the program.
  • Attends all trainings required to obtain CEU for licensure and maintains an active license within the state of Ohio in order to practice group and individual therapy.
  • Reports any and all sexual abuse, physical abuse or neglect to program and clinical supervisor upon completion of the session to assess the need to file a report with Children Services to maintain the safety and protection of the children that we service at the treatment program.
  • Informs supervisor(s), client rights officer, and/or human resource director, as appropriate, of any complaints from clients, families, members of the community, or workforce members of actual or suspected workforce member abuse/harassment towards clients or their family/significant others or other workforce members.
  • Abides by agency code of conduct, policy and procedures and mission statement (e.g., business, clinical, personnel, and plan manuals) at all times on agency property or while conducting agency business.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s), program director, clinic director, and agency administration.

  • Eligible to work in the United Stated
  • Graduate degree in mental health related field with knowledge of person- and family-centered recovery model, psychopathology, mental health and substance abuse problems;
  • Competency in various therapeutic modalities (individual, couples, family, and group);
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to a variety of persons served and families.
  • Possession of a current and approved credential in the state of Ohio for designated position.
  • Strong focus on group and individual therapy models.
