As a Program Director with Good Shepherd, you will make a difference each and every day by helping to ensure that the services we provide are delivered with the greatest care. You will be responsible for the successful operation of our Becker Assisted Living program. In this role you will hire, coach and supervise the employees on your team.

Program Director Responsibilities

  • Ensure services are provided as detailed in the plan of care/service agreement at the time of admission and as needs change
  • Set a professional standard of positive leadership in daily coaching, training and communication
  • Participate in the hiring/orientation process for new staff and coordinate/participate in all training
  • Ensure adequate 24-hour staffing to meet the needs of clients
  • Ensure Life Enrichment services are provided as scheduled to meet client needs
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment is maintained
  • Work with Good Shepherd’s Marketing/Welcome Center to proactively promote the Assisted Living program
  • Coordinate services to address routine client and family requests/concerns
  • Assist with move-in/move-out paperwork and unit transfers
  • Participate in budget development and the accomplishment of budgetary goals
  • Coordinate the delivery of food and ensure food handling standards are followed per licensure requirements
  • Maintain current understanding of MDH, DHS and Housing licensure/regulatory compliance factors related to AL program
  • Work with the VP of Outreach to establish goals/processes that improve customer service, quality of life and staff education/retention

Program Director Schedule

  • Will participate in weekend events as assigned for marketing or management coverage

Program Director Qualifications

  • Current MN Licensed Nurse preferred
  • Licensed Assisted Living Director (LALD) required or obtain upon hire
  • 3-years’ experience working with older adults
  • 3-years’ experience with direct supervision of staff preferred
  • Demonstrated organizational, leadership, professional interpersonal communication skill both written and verbal
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English in both verbally and in writing
  • Must have proficient computer skills
  • Project, program and budget development experience
  • Must be able to work independently, have strong organization skills, be self-motivated and ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must have a current, valid Driver’s License with no driving violations within the standards of Good Shepherd’s insurability
