POSITION SUMMARY - This position is based in Arlington, VA
Conservation International Nature Positive Economies work is one of three flagship initiatives that guide all our institutional work. The Nature Positive Economies work aims to conserve 40M ha. of tropical forests, grasslands, and coastal ecosystems by working with the productive sectors most associated with ecosystem loss and degradation and transforming these sectors into drivers of sustainable development that benefits local people, ecosystems, and the planet.
The Nature Positive Economies Coordinator will provide administrative, coordination, logistics, and project support for CI’s Nature Positive Economies work. Establish and maintain administrative, workflow, and program/project monitoring systems. Support program tracking and strategy summaries. Support and build the Nature Positive Economies community of practice. Provide administrative support to key staff and manage travel arrangements and the department calendar. Organize conference calls and team/committee meetings; manage agendas, logistics, minutes, and reporting. Support technical work related to program strategy development, planning, and technical analysis (potentially in GIS, economic, finance, policy, and legal).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate efforts between the Center for Sustainable Lands and Waters (CSLW), other Global Programs, and Field Programs to collect, collate and analyze programmatic information relative to tracking NPE Key Performance Indicators, building the NPE project portfolio, and tracking progress toward NPE’s long-term area-based, human wellbeing and ecosystem health targets.
- Work with field teams to collect and synthesize information in order to track progress on key elements of implementing sustainable landscapes in a select portfolio of landscapes aspiring to systemic transformation to sustainability and collect information to showcase programmatic highlights for internal and external communications purposes.
- Connect teams and provide technical support to assist priority landscapes in updating their Landscape Strategy summaries and to validate and update spatial information in their landscape maps.
- Support NPE lead and staff and CSLW staff in scheduling travel, virtual meetings, and in-person events with field teams, other US-based programs, and external partners
- Coordinate the Nature Positive Economies Community of Practice and Sharepoint site
- Connect teams and provide technical support for landscape-level technical analyses
- Assistance with preparing general communications materials, such as web pages, factsheets, and briefs, as well as presentations for global fora, external partners, CI’s Board and. Internal audiences.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Typical office environment. May need to work extended hours as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- High School or Secondary School education.
- 2 - 4 years of related work experience, preferably in the conservation, NGO, or advocacy arena.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Solid attention to detail and strong research and proofreading skills.
- Ability to function well in a multicultural, diverse, and fast-paced work team environment.
- Comfortable managing multiple duties and adapting to changing priorities.
- Service focus. Courteous, tactful, and proven ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to work under general supervision and take initiative to solve problems under the supervisor's direction.
- Experience hosting meetings and webinars using Microsoft Teams, GoTo Meeting, and Zoom.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Microsoft Excel.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international development, sustainable agriculture, and corporate sustainability or up to four years of college-level work.
- Understanding of landscape/Jurisdictional approaches to conservation, conservation finance, integrated land use management, blended finance
- Understanding of conservation strategic planning frameworks
- On-the-ground experience with conservation and development projects
- Experience in grants management and reporting
- Ability to coordinate projects across a wide range of stakeholders
- Knowledge of best practices for monitoring and evaluating projects
- Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or French.
