Affordable Housing Program Assistant

Parkview Services’ programs include a Homeownership Program which assists struggling homeowners prevent unnecessary foreclosures, a Group Home for 6 adults with developmental disabilities, and an Affordable Housing Program which provides housing to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DDs).

Job Title: Program Assistant

Reports To: Affordable Housing Program Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Work Location: 4720 200th St SW, Suite 200 Lynnwood, WA 98036. Some remote work possible after initial training period.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday. 30-40 hours per week.

Pay: $24-27/hr, DOE

Parkview Services is a non-profit organization in Shoreline, WA, and owns and manages 65 scattered-site residential rental properties serving more than 195 low-income people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDDs). Position Summary

Parkview Services is hiring a Program Assistant to manage all daily property management operations of the Affordable Housing Program. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, as well as effective communication and efficient organizational skills. The program duties require collaboration with other staff as well as service providers, payees and guardians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manages all daily property management operations of the Affordable Housing Program including tenant certification, leasing processes, and program compliance. Essential duties include:

· Creates and renews all tenant leases and ensures compliance with notice requirements

of Washington State law as well as compliance with City, County, State, and Federal funders.

· Coordinates with guardians, payees and service providers to ensure complete documentation for tenant certifications and new tenant applications.

· Calculates tenant rent for both Section 8 and non-Section 8 tenants.

· Works closely with tenants supported living service providers to ensure compliance with lease requirements.

· Builds relationships with service providers to ensure open communication.

· Ensures vacant units are inspected for complete vacancy and scheduled for repairs.

· Ensures all tenant files are complete, accurate, and in compliance with funder requirements.

· Resolves complaints by clarifying the issues, determining the cause and determining the best solution, and following up to ensure resolution, and documenting the complaint.

· Maintains program-related mailings, reports and other documents as needed.

· Creates and maintains filing systems, both electronic and physical.

· Ensures program policies and procedures comply with Federal, State, and Local laws and funder requirements.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Communication and collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration with other staff as well as service providers, payees and guardians.

Organization: Organization is a core element of the Program Assistant’s responsibilities. Knowing how to prioritize tasks and keep files organized is required.
