Program Administrator, Dance for All Job at Sarasota Ballet Of Florida
Dance for All is The Sarasota Ballet’s free and low-cost community engagement initiative designed to provide access and opportunity for thousands of individuals in Greater Sarasota communities to explore the world of dance. Through six core programs, Dance for All strives to engage new audiences, revitalize neighborhoods, and continue broadening opportunities for all to experience the beauty of dance. Dance for All’s six core programs are: Dance – The Next Generation, Joyful Movement through Parkinson’s, Silver Swans, Public School Performances, Community Performances and Lectures, Tickets & Tours.
The Program Administrator is a full-time exempt position integral to the Education department. The individual in this role will be an organized self-starter, passionate about dance education, and interested in attending to the administrative needs of Dance for All while assisting with its youth community engagement program, Dance – The Next Generation.
Responsibilities:
Oversee administrative support for all Dance for All programs in coordination with the Program Director of Dance for All. Assist Program Manager of Dance – The Next Generation with daily operations for students from 3rd to 12th grade following the standards of The Sarasota Ballet and DNG.
Must have a flexible schedule with evening work required; weekend work as needed. Position mirrors Sarasota County Schools’ academic calendar: academic months=2-3 evening per week (until 8pm) and summer months=traditional work hours (9am-5pm)
Main duties are not limited to but include:
Administrative:
- Provide administrative support to all aspects of Dance for All in coordination with Dance for All Program Director.
- Maintain timely and effective communication with Dance for All students and families, community partners, as well as internal and external affairs.
- Support dance education programming in collaboration with Dance – The Next Generation Program Manager that supports DNG’s mission and values.
- Provide direct oversight of students and assisted support of program maintenance for Dance – The Next Generation.
- Create and maintain a welcoming, inclusive, nurturing, and structured environment within all Dance for All programs.
- Establish a relationship of respect and dignity with all Dance for All students while honoring the needs of each individual.
- Assist with metrics and procedures to track measures of student success.
- Assist in maintaining accurate data and information regarding all aspects of the program.
- Safeguard the health and safety of all students.
- Keep track of and maintain supplies as needed.
- Additional duties as required.
Education & Qualifications
Required:
- Administrative experience in a not-for-profit or education environment.
- Experience overseeing a variety of ages in traditional and non-traditional learning environments.
- Ensure confidentiality with sensitive and private information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to keep detailed records.
- Experience working with a wide demographic to include children, parents, and adults from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that facilitates a high level of learning.
- Passion for utilizing dance as a catalyst for change.
- Strong organization and communication skills; attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain poised under pressure and make sound decisions.

- Must successfully pass a grade 2 background check.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption.
Preferred:
- Administrative experience at an arts organization highly desirable.
- Experience teaching dance in a variety of genres.
- Experience with the public school system.
- Multi-lingual, especially Spanish.
