Technical Operators

The CertainTeed facility in Quakertown, PA manufactures StoneFacade, a Siding construction product. We are a new plant and eager to work hard together and celebrate an environment that is open, creative and engaging.

Job Location: Quakertown, PA

Schedule: Day shift: 6am-6pm, Night Shift 6pm-6am rotating 2-2-3 schedule.

Compensation: Starting wage $21.00/Hour

Additional Bonus: Immediately eligible to participate in annual bonus program

TECHNICAL OPERATOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Safety: Work safely, demonstrate safe behaviors and lead by example, the best example

• Communication: you will continuously interact with peers and managers about daily interactions, potential issues, and needs; it is critical that you remain approachable and engaged with the team – we look out for one another and communication is the key.
• Flexibility: you must be flexible to work in multiple areas, adapt to unscheduled production schedule changes, environmental changes, and potential work schedule changes.
• Data input when necessary for the assigned shift.
• Wear all PPE as required.
• Perform job in a safe manner following all rules/ regulations and training.
• Perform daily safety inspection audit and report all unsafe conditions or Near Miss events immediately.
• Follow all environmental and housekeeping requirements, properly dispose of trash, regularly sweep keeping material, oil and water off floors and keep contaminated material from entering process water system.
• Ensure all areas of the plant are clean prior to end of work shift.
• Responsible for achieving the shift safety target, quality, shipping, and cost goals on the shift.
• Responsibility for following production schedule.
• Perform and operate many manufacturing responsibilities per standard operating conditions.
• Continuously check the operation for leaks or other issues, perform operator based care, and use hand tools only as intended – training will be provided.
• Must maintain an excellent standard of housekeeping and order in the work area adhering to 5S Standards.
• Model ISO compliance
• Follow all quality expectations, isolate/ report all defects, insure that product meets all quality standards per the quality manual, adhere to all SOP standards, and ensure proper documentation.
• Ensures that quality is maintained by following current operating procedures and process controls.
• Audit monitoring devices and report any potential calibration needs
• Monitors quality and adherence to work instructions, standards and policies
• Support product testing as needed
• Complete visual inspections on material as necessary
• Identify, record, and report non-conformance conditions
• Perform all other duties and assignments as and when requested by the Shift Supervisor.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

• Promote an atmosphere of continuous improvement through your engagement – generate original ideas to promote safety, quality, customer service and productivity.
• We want to hear your ideas; identify cost reductions, tell us how we can do it better, make process or any site improvement recommendations.
• Be an active member of site improvement opportunities, Kaizen events, and WCM projects.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED

PREFERRED OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous manufacturing experience minimum of 1 year required
• Previous work experience in Lean Principles or WCM (World Class Manufacturing) is a plus, but not required
