Provide leadership and line management for a section within the manufacturing function, coordinating their workloads, providing support, monitoring any issues, and ensuring production targets are met. Support the Supervisor with the day-to-day management of their manufacturing area, overseeing a group of members and ensuring an efficient operation.

Role and Responsibilities

• Ensures staffing is properly aligned and that work assignments are properly communicated in all assigned
• Ensures new and existing Operators are trained to the defined Work Instructions
• Ensures new and existing Operators have all tools required to run assigned job
• Performs daily audit requirements and makes and or directs needed corrective actions.
• Monitors hourly production and scrap versus standard and obtains support from resources as required if outside of acceptable target
• Monitors quality of product through random visual checks, discussions with Operators, Quality Inspectors and communicates all potential issues /risk immediately to Supervisor
• Communicates machine or mechanical issues to Process Techs, Maintenance Techs, and/or Supervisors
• Coordinates with Relief and or Material Handlers to keep materials and supplies in stock
• Ensures a proper Line Clearance is conducted at all areas assigned in relation to a product/process change
• Acts as liaison between Supervisor, Relief Operators and Operators
• Communicates job assignments to Operators
• Conducts huddle meetings to keep all associates informed
• Responsible for proper documentation in assigned work areas.
• Enforce facilities quality and safety rules and policies including housekeeping in the production area.
• Safely use forklifts and other equipment needed for job task.
• Observe all safety requirements and maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition.

Additional Responsibilities (thermoforming)

• Programs, positions, and secures molds and fixtures onto machines to ensure proper operation providing quality parts.
• Starts machine and observes machine operation to reposition workpiece, change molds or fixtures, or adjust machine settings for multiple passes.
• Responsible for first and tenth part approval and in process inspection and documentation.
• Adjusts controls to set and regulate machining factors.

Leadership responsibilities

• Oversees activities of assigned production associates
• Demonstrates and cultivates teamwork within the assigned production area

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
• Experience using a forklift preferred
• Must obtain and maintain a valid forklift license to hold position
• All required WilbertU Courses based on job title
