Our greatest asset has been, and will continue to be, our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Production Engineer in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), Rockies Business Unit based in Platteville, Colorado.
The candidate will report directly to the Asset Director as a production advisor and project manager. The candidate will work in a team environment with upstream and midstream operations to provide engineering support and execute a wide variety of production and facility related projects for both DJ and PRB. Additional interaction with development teams and asset personnel will be encouraged to optimize asset value.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with production, facility, reservoir, completions, and operations engineers to enhance wells and production performance for both DJ and PRB
- Production advisor and project manager to support the Rockies Asset Director
- Participation in and often leading special technical projects
- Provide engineering support in a variety of technical aspects, such as, choke/drawdown management, inflow/outflow, integrated capacity design and planning, sand management and surveillance, and well barriers/integrity, well injection/disposal.
- Construct, and run engineering models (GAP, Prosper, Pipesim, etc) to integrate, and solve technical problems across multiple functions
- Perform data analytics and data driven recommendations to deep dive/special projects
- Provide production engineering input for longer term field development plans
- Collaborate and actively build networks with ORCM to assess, adopt and implement new production engineering and surveillance best practices
- Explore innovative technologies/projects that drive value, reduce downtime failures, and operating expense
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years relevant engineering experience required with production experience.
- Demonstrated ability to apply petroleum engineering techniques to identify opportunities and create value.
- Experienced with engineering nodal analysis, and ability to construct integrated models.
- Experienced with data analytics, with basic dexterity in data engineering (ETL, QA/QC of data, visualizations)
- General understanding of fluid behavior (PVT)
- General knowledge of production facilities and production operations
- Proficiency in production engineering best practices including sand management, artificial lift, well interventions, workovers/recompletions, well surveillance, and field operations
- Strong skillset in economic evaluation, risk/uncertainty assessment, and scenario comparisons
- Strong communication skills (verbal/written/listening/presentation)
- Understanding of economics, economic drivers, and business acumen
- Experience in leading successful project teams and ability to interact and work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong project management and project coordination skills
- Self-starter, able to lead and influence without formal authority
- Prior roles in any other petroleum engineering teams, such as, reservoir, facilities, completions would be an added advantage
- Skills in the Petroleum experts DOF/IVM systems would be an added advantage
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Grade and salary will be commensurate with relevant education and experience.
Certifications/Licenses:
Valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.

Travel Requirements
The percentage of travel required for this position is 10-25%.
Work Schedule
This position is eligible for the 9/80 work schedule.
