The intent and purpose of this position is to manage all communication and tracking of new or improved products from concept to launch, as well as analyze and manage existing products to get a true understanding of performance, potential and establish plans for continuation or discontinuation.
The Product Manager must have a basic understanding and be able to communicate and coordinate with the heads and designated employees of the following departments: Sales, Marketing, Product Development/Engineering, Purchasing, Forecasting, Sourcing, QC/QA and Production.

We are currently hiring for a
Product Manager to join our Product Development team. If this sounds like your next career move, please apply!
The intent and purpose of this position is to manage all communication and tracking of new or improved products from concept to launch, as well as analyze and manage existing products to get a true understanding of performance, potential and establish plans for continuation or discontinuation.
This position will also require involvement on a global level that will have you involved in high level discussions quarterly with the P3 New Product Development (NPD) Team.
The Product Manager must have a basic understanding and be able to communicate and coordinate with the heads and designated employees of the following departments: Sales, Marketing, Product Development/Engineering, Purchasing, Forecasting, Sourcing, QC/QA and Production.
INTERNAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT:

Analyze market (competitor products, pricing, promotions) in support of NPD to identify opportunities/potential with unique and proprietary products as well as “me too” products to steal market share from competitors

Drive the planning, communication and tracking of product launches including but not limited to:
-
New Product development- design briefs and product specifications
-
Work with and lead PD engineers and track any product tool mods and samples
-
Testing and evaluation of samples and prototypes (white and green seal samples)
-
Product approval, first order quantities and pricing structure
-
Product data collection for internal software systems and Sales/Marketing materials
-
Product training for internal staff prior to launch; become the product expert to serve as resource for internal staff

Work with internal and international teams to update status of product in the development stages
PRODUCT ANALYSIS & MANAGEMENT:

Analyze sales by product line to identify
-
top selling products in each category
-
slow movers to consider discontinuing with an EOL (End of Life) plan
-
Analyze sales trends on specific products to understand, document and present product life cycle information in the effort to make decisions on product upgrades or discontinuations
-
Work with the Inventory team to target products for promotions and provide details to Marketing, Sales, Graphics, etc.

Drive the planning, communication around product discontinuations, improvements and enhancements with aforementioned groups.
GLOBAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with EU counterparts as a member of the Global team

Attend NPD meetings
-
Gather new ideas and concepts for possible new product developments

Provide assistance in product launches that involve globally shared products

Provide regular updates globally to all interested
-
Make sure all internal progress and information is shared globally
REQUIREMENTS & DESIRED SKILLS:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
-
5+ years of product management experience
-
Must be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint (or equivalent presentation software)

Proficient in Adobe suites a plus

Detail and deadline oriented
-
Excellent organization and project management skills

Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects

Critical thinking and problem solving is a must

Decisive yet open to other ideas and processes

Proficient in verbal and written communication

Works well in team environments

Will do, can do, professional demeanor and attitude

This position requires some international travel
