The Physician Assistant will work under the general supervision of our three Medical doctors and Market Operations Manager and will work closely with two other Physician Assistants already in practice. Individuals will be expected to deliver competent surgical and medical care in the hospital setting, including pre and post-surgical care. This position will consist of inpatient and outpatient care, including surgery, rounding, and additional on-call responsibilities, including night and weekend rotations.
We prefer individuals to have prior surgical knowledge and experience. The Physician Assistant's responsibilities will include performing consults and history and physicals, daily patient rounds, daily hospital notes, dictation of consults, history and physicals, discharge summaries, procedures, clinic notes, pre and post-procedure care, and prescribing and patient care follow-ups. Physician Assistant will provide education and counseling on pre and post-surgery, discharge, and other educational needs. The Physician Assistant will work closely with other healthcare providers in a collaborative multidisciplinary approach to maximize the care we provide to our patients. Within this position, the PA will maintain the scope of practice consistent with the policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines governed by TPR and Tenet, Tennessee Medical Board, and any other federal or state regulatory agencies, as well as the policies and procedures of TPR/Tenet facility.
Additional certifications such as Advanced Life Support may be required based on the clinical area of practice; this will be outlined in the clinical job expectations and reviewed annually during the annual review process. The PA understands the organization's needs and supports the mission, values, and management of TPR/Tenet. The individual will be required to have a Tennessee license and DEA.

Hours: Day/Night/Weekends

Preferred: some OR/Surgical knowledge and experience

On-call required: yes, rotated with other Phsyican Assistance in practice.

Under the direction of a physician, provides direct patient care including gathering detailed history and performing physical exams. Performs or orders tests and interprets results. Administers therapeutic procedures as directed. Instructs on care and maintains written charts and records on patients. Maintains appropriate manual and electronic records (EMR).
