Silver Pines is looking to hire a full-time or part-time Physician Assistant to join our team!

At Silver Pines located in Mahanoy City in the Poconos Mountains we believe in creating meaningful connections and empowering our clients with choice. Our team strives to create individualized treatment plans that our clients can not only benefit from, but become invested in. The Physician Assistant is responsible to support client care by making diagnoses, prescribing medication, making specialist referrals (as needed), and collaborating with the treatment team.

Position Summary

• Ensure the health and safety of all clients
• Assess and prescribe appropriate medication regimens
• Assess medical and psychiatric issues / concerns and address or make appropriate referral
• Approve potential admissions based on medical and psychiatric requirements
• Consult with treatment team on primary diagnosis and co-occurring issues

Position Responsibilities

• Working 30 plus hours a week
• Maintaining a safe and secure environment
• Help Clients by providing information, services, and assistance
• Routine checkups and psychiatric evaluations of clients
• Conducting follow up and evaluation of client physical and psychiatric conditions.
• Prescribe medications as necessary
• Document clinical, medical, and psychiatric treatments and recommendations
• Pre-screen clients by reviewing psych and medical records for admission
• Order Lab work and UAs as needed

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

• A minimum of 2 years experience in a Psychiatric setting, preferably in a substance abuse setting.
• Certified in the state of Pennsylvania as a CRNP
• Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Nursing required, Masters degree preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work with a clinical team to make recommendations and implement strategies that will benefit clients
• Willingness to take calls during afterhours days and times.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to communicate with peers/general public, clients and/or vendors
• Tolerant to various noise levels: noise level in the work environment varies may be very quiet to moderate
