What you will do:

• In this role, you will Operate and maintain a light-duty bus or minivan used for transporting individuals with disabilities to their destination in a safe & timely manner.
• This position requires someone with strong driving skills, a clean driving record, and a valid driver’s license.

• In addition to your driving skills, you will also need excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to represent ENJ in a friendly and helpful manner.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assist with the loading and unloading of persons receiving services as required.
• May lift persons receiving services when working in a setting that provides direct services to persons who are non-ambulant, or who are semi-ambulant, and/or have severe physical disabilities.
• Maintain vehicle (s) in safe and clean condition.
• Responsible for scheduling, documentation and orderly filing of vehicle mileage, inspections, maintenance, gas, toll receipts, and all applicable bills of lading (when shipping materials/items).
• Ensure first aid kit, fire extinguishing equipment, and road emergency equipment is stocked and in good working order at all times.
• Possess a thorough knowledge of the proper methods of operating the assigned vehicle.
• Make periodic safety check of the vehicle, to check the function of the brakes, condition of tires, exhaust system, drive train, suspension, lights, wipers, horn, exit doors, and other equipment.
• Utilize the application of technology within operations and services to enhance quality, increase outcomes and lower costs. Communicate new ideas and knowledge that improve services and operations.
• Promote safety and welfare of self and others. Safely transport consumers to work and / or designated community setting and back to facility or consumer residence

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with disabilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication utilizing the English language.
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, persons receiving services, and the general public.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
