Higginbotham, a privately held, independent insurance and financial services firm that ranks within the top 20 nationwide, has an immediate opening for a Payroll Specialist/ Coordinator for our HR Services Department.

Location: Hybrid, 3 days in office; Work location will be at our Atlanta office.

ESSENTIAL Duties and Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of this position is to support our clients in processing payroll and to support our internal HR, Payroll, and Benefits partners in regard to the:

  • Processing weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly and monthly multi-state end to end payroll cycles for our multi-client base
  • Ensure timesheets are accurate and have proper approvals have been obtained
  • Updating employee files in the HRIS/Payroll system including tax updates, address updates
  • Audit payrolls for accuracy
  • Provide reporting for clients
  • Manual adjustments and additional payroll cycles as needed
  • Data Entry, new hires, terminations, employee changes as they are sent
  • Handling direct deposit requests and data
  • Setting up wage garnishments, child support orders and monitoring

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Attention to detail very important
  • Ability to work well under pressure or time constraints
  • Experience in payroll processing
  • Excellent organization skills with ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to work well with others
  • Must be reliable, with a strong customer focus

Preferred experience with the any of the following HRIS/Payroll systems:

  • Paylocity, AllianceHCM, Paycor, Paycom or ADP Workforce Now experience

JOB REQUISITES:

The individual in this position should be competent, organized, personable, a problem solver, reliable, ethical, and able to adapt to the pressures of effectively managing multiple goals and daily tasks at once

Preferred Education/Training/Experience:

  • 1+ years payroll administration experience or
  • 2+ years HR administration experience or
  • FPC or CPP certification preferred
