Part Time Educator - Gardening & Crafting with Elders Job at Eldergrow

Eldergrow Mount Angel, OR

We Bring Nature Indoors for Seniors!

Eldergrow is looking for our next friendly, nature loving Educator in Mount Angel & Salem, OR. If you enjoy gardening, helping others, flexibility on when you work and learning new things, then Eldergrow is perfect for you. You work just 7-8 hours a month per garden during the day to provide elders a therapeutic connection to nature by teaching classes using our mobile indoor garden that lives in long-term & memory care communities.

This is a fun and gratifying role that sometimes even includes chocolate (which comes from plants after all). An Eldergrow Educator’s goal is to make connections with elders and build relationships with community staff. You must be friendly, outgoing, able to project your voice, caring, and comfortable around elders who have varied cognitive and physical needs. The best Educator candidates will have some gardening or basic plant-care skills and experience interacting with a vulnerable population like seniors, teaching young children, persons with disabilities, mental health conditions or addictions.
