Job Description
A Paint/Prepper is responsible for completing the following duties:
- Prepare surface for painting, which includes sanding with an air sander, sand poly and primer, and verifying removal of spatter and slag, knowledge of filler application
- Use measurement devices to measure & record pre and post sand dry mill thickness
- Perform daily maintenance routines on paint prep equipment
- Identify and mask areas that are not to be painted
- Clean paint booth and lights and change filters
- Coordinate flow of and complete necessary paperwork
- Organize and maintain paint prep area
- Keep prep area picked up and free of dust and tools, sweeping daily
- Operate tugger according to safe operating procedures
- Operate forklifts according to safe operating procedures
- Operate scissor-lifts according to safe operating procedures
- Wear proper safety equipment
- Other duties as assigned
