BRIOCHE PACKAGING LINE CONDUCTOR

SALARY: $19.75 PER HOUR (PLUS 40% BASE PAY)
Purpose of the Position:
The brioche packaging line conductor works cohesively with the other line conductors as
well as the packing operators to ensure reception and delivery of the final product meets quality standards in a clean and efficient manner. The challenges faced in this role are communication and organization of line, product changeovers, managing of breaks and rotation, as well as the accuracy of documentation. Sanitation includes but is NOT limited to the daily task sheets as well as the master sanitation log.
Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Must have the ability to facilitate and manage operators to ensure a quality product is coming downstream; this includes but is not limited to recipe changes, mechanical settings, toolchanges, bag/corrugate selection.
- Take all proper steps to eliminate downtime and prevent any events that may deviate from the continuous workflow by having the packaging department ready and operational uponreception of the product.
- Line conductor shall be flexible in ability as the role is not limited i.e., filling in on the line as needed.
- Perform CCP checks, and quality tests, and ensure proper materials are present in the material handlers to ensure the production process is streamlined in the allotted times given by the QAdepartment.
- Take complete ownership of the packing area and maintain continuous work, rotate operators, maintain breaks timely and efficiently and addresses any employee needs to supervisor.
- Build, construct, and grow as a team, with continuous improvement ideas to be addressed with supervisor in order to have a more efficient process.
- Report any safety or quality defects to the supervisor, as well as any behavioral issues of the team members; the line conductors are the first “line” of coaching followed by the production supervisors.
- OSHA regulations are compliant.
- Proper PPE and attire at all times when on the floor; this includes hairnets, beard nets, gloves (optional), lab coats used inside the packing room, Tyvek sleeves, and any other PPE required.
- Adhere to GMPs to and from the production floor; including but not limited to hand washing, sanitizing, no gum, candy, cough drops, or chewing tobacco in the production floor.
- Uphold SQF standards; materials have Lot numbers visible and easily readable, clean work stations, organized tooling, and an overall clean and organized workspace.
- Report ALL quality and safety concerns to report manager or member of the management the team is not limited but includes unknown visitors, pest control, expiration or production quality in question, sanitation, etc.
Job Qualification Requirements
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in food processing environment preferred
- High School/GED Diploma required
- Adequate with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to operate machinery and multi-task
- Ability to respond to continually changing priorities; both in and out of the department
- Continuously observe and evaluate operations to identify problems and/or opportunities for improvement
- Must have the ability to interpret and follow policies and procedures
- Great Interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Understands the ever-changing nature of the business and is open to assisting where
- needed to ensure that the overall operations run smoothly.
