A rapidly growing beverage technology company seeks an energetic, reliable person for packaging machine technician / operator in a friendly, small-team environment.
Initial training period of 3-4 weeks will be during dayshift from 7 am - 7 pm. You will then move to the evening shift.

Job Duties:

• The Machine Operator will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of sophisticated, high speed packaging machines along with other production-critical fixtures used on the production floor.
• Readily troubleshoot/resolve problems, monitor production line to ensure efficiency/quality is maintained.
• Track performance data, communicate exceptions and work with teammates and supervision to recommend and execute solutions.
• Maintain and exceed Safety, Quality, Production, and Cost standards.
• Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF and regulatory requirements.
• Be aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
• Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
• Maintains a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Set up machine; loading, dies, and films, and monitors to make sure everything is running efficiently.
• Perform diagnostics and resolve equipment issues as needed.
• Perform quality control and material waste checks.
• Collect downtime data and other performance data as required.
• Analyze to recommend or implement improvements.
• Perform pre-operational checks, including quality of materials.
• Communicate and assist in managing exceptions.
• Load product into hopper and monitor scales and/or other support equipment.
• Lead machinery change over (clean, size change, etc.) effectively, timely and with proper level of cleaning.
• Direct/instruct machine line personnel in specific job duties.
• Provide training to another machine operator.
• Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.

Requirements

• Specific in-depth knowledge of complex packaging equipment and/or broad, extensive knowledge of a variety of packaging equipment.

• High school education (or GED)
• Ability to communicate
• Ability to lift 30-40 lbs.
• Follow instructions, and be comfortable around both simple and complex machinery.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
