GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The primary role of this position is to provide quality care using best-practices and evidence-based approaches to
agency participants following the philosophies and principles of recovery. Licensed Clinician will be flexible
in conducting assessments virtually and at one of the agency’s collaborative partner’s SA residential location(s).
Licensed Clinician will manage a daily schedule of appointments for clinical comprehensive assessment
and/or individual/group therapy. Licensed Clinician will assess and utilize treatment approaches and
interviewing skills for providing basic outpatient behavioral health services, and responding appropriately to in-office,
virtual participant crisis. Licensed Clinicians will document contact, assessments, coordination of care, and
therapy daily and respond to agency partners/stakeholders according to agency standards.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

(Licensed and Licensed-Associate Level Clinical Professionals):

1. Managing the daily appointment scheduling, noting no shows, cancellations
2. Strive to meet daily show rate set by department through use of timeliness, service delivery, and providing
any additional follow-up for rescheduling of missed, cancelled appointments
3. Conducting clinical assessments virtually or onsite at a collaborative partner’s location to SA participants
4. Conduct therapy sessions according to schedule
5. Flexibility to manage scheduling of walk-in, urgent, and emergent appointments
6. Facilitate coordination of care when appropriate
7. Respond to agency stakeholders and providers within a timely manner according to agency standards
8. Facilitate clinical assessments
9. Facilitate individual and group therapy
10. Seek out consultation with a peer as needed
11. Attend supervisions, trainings as required and scheduled
12. Submit service documentation within 24 hours of service or as assigned
13. Remain in good standing with agency trainings
14. Uphold standards of confidentiality according to agency, state, and federal standards i.e., HIPAA, 42 CFR Part
2
15. Completing all other assigned clinical-administrative tasks within the scope of practice.
16. Implements and upholds all agency health and safety procedures and standards established for staff and
agency participants i.e., OSHA, Flu season, COVID-19 etc.
17. Following the outlined in the NC Division of Medical Assistance Clinical Coverage Policy: 8C for Outpatient
Behavioral Health Services.

Clinical Comprehensive Assessment (CCA) Responsibilities

1. Complete CCAs according to agency standards
2. Utilize templates, examples, resources etc. that has been provided
3. Use of recovery language throughout CCAs
4. Ensure that each section of CCA has been acknowledged
5. CCAs should include justification for diagnosis and supports recommendations for services
6. CCAs to be submitted into appropriate systems and according to agency processes
7. CCAs should be submitted within two business days of date of service
8. Submit billing by the end of business day
9. Communicate to Admission Coordinator within 1 business day diagnosis and recommendations by submitting
CCA Log

Individual and Group Therapy Responsibilities

1. Ensure CCA recommends therapy
2. Develop Individualized Therapy Plan at first session and submit accordingly
3. Implement Individualized Therapy Plan using evidence-based modalities at early, middle, and late phase of
treatment
4. Document service provided, no shows, cancellations within 24 hours of service date
5. Facilitate follow-up calls to participants who no show
6. Utilize best-practice and evidence-based approaches aligning with therapy goals
7. Develop and implement treatment curriculums
8. Use of homework, videos, and other strategies/methods for creating interactive treatment
9. Complete authorizations as needed for initial and or continuation of services
10. Ensure Rights & Releases are in place for coordinating care or including supports in sessions

TECHNICAL SKILLS

 Writing skills that include sentence structure, grammar, and use of clinical terminology

Responsibilities:

  • Drives the delivery of services based on the principles and philosophies of the recovery model
  • Ensure and assist with On-call after hours services to all Community Support Team participants
  • Develop and implement behavioral interventions such as modeling, behavior modification, behavior rehearsal
  • Designates the appropriate team staff so that specialized clinical expertise is applied as clinically indicated for each beneficiary
  • Conducts the initial participant intakes and submission of required documents for the start of services
  • Provides clinical expertise and guidance to the Community Support Team members in the delivery of the team’s interventions
  • Provides the clinical supervision of all members of the team as outline by Clinical Coverage Policy 8A-6. Individual supervision plan is required for all Community Support Team members
  • Reviews and determines team caseload by the level of acuity and the needs of each participant
  • Facilitates weekly Community Support Team meetings for team members
  • Monitors and evaluates the services, interventions, and activities provided by the team
  • Completes functional needs assessment(s) to determine the scope and anticipated outcomes for each participant
  • Ensures the Implementation evidence-based treatment components such as Cognitive Behavioral Techniques, Illness Management and Recovery etc.
  • Monitors and ensures case management services are provided by the team to each participant
  • Ensures regular communication with MCO Care Coordinators, Court Representatives, natural supports etc., by team members and as a representative of Amara Wellness
  • Ensures person-centered planning process with all participants, which includes ongoing, team implementation, evaluation, and revising overall recovery goal(s)/plan(s) with the participant and their treatment team.
  • Facilitating weekly Community Support Team Meetings as evident by set agenda and signed attendees’ sheet.
  • Implement, monitor, and follow all health and safety procedures set forth by the state, county, and agency standards for Flu season, COVID-19 etc., for ensuring health and safety
  • Continues to follow and implement the NC Division of Medical Assistance Clinical Coverage Policy: 8A-6 for Community Support Services as outlined
  • Completing all other assigned clinical-administrative tasks within the scope of practice.

Licensed and Associate-Level Specific Responsibilities (those holding status)

  • Shall provide individual therapy to participants receiving team services
  • Conducts and coordinates Clinical Comprehensive Assessments (CCA) or CCA Addendums
  • Provide clinical support for after-hours on-call to community Support Team members
  • Identifying and developing therapeutic interventions into service delivery reflecting the participant’s Person-Centered Plan

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate weekly staff Community Support Team Meetings
  • Provides regular individual supervisions with each member of Community Support Team
  • Attend collaborations, treatment teams, and agency meetings
  • Monitors the completion of Service Authorization Request and the accompanied clinical documents for submission to the Managed Care Organization (MCO). Documents include Person-Centered Plans, Crisis Plan, Functional Assessments, and as requested by MCO
  • Ensures all clinical documents are present in participant’s medical record
  • Monitors and ensure submission of progress notes according to agency standards
  • Submit progress notes within 24 to 48 hours of date of service in participant’s permanent record
  • Monitor the members of Community Support Team’s assigned weekly service delivery standards (productivity)
  • Ensure the minimal weekly service delivery of 70 hours for the overall team based on individual team members assigned service hours
  • Ensure the submission of clinical documents and report(s) according to agency deadlines
  • Submit all other assigned paperwork according to deadlines

EDUCATION/CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Licensed Clinical Professionals (LSCW, LMFT, LMHC, & LCAS)
  • Meet full conditions set by appropriate licensing board
  • Maintains licensure in good standing
  • OR
  • Licensed Associate-level Clinical Professional (LSCWA, LMFTA, LMHCA, LCASA)
  • Has been approved for associate level status
  • Licensing Supervisor in place as evident by contract and meeting according to licensing board/supervisor’s
  • requirements

  • Completes and maintains all required trainings set forth by NC Division of Medical Assistance Clinical
  • Coverage Policy: 8C which is specific to Outpatient Behavioral Health Services and Amara Wellness Services,
