Organic Farmer/Gardener Job at Rose Bridge Farm Sanctuary
Rose Bridge Farm Sanctuary Maple Glen, PA 19002
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our farm family. The ideal candidate will have background in farming or gardening and be capable of performing general labor tasks and working in the field. Candidates should also have a knowledge of growing plants (vegetables, herbs and flowers) and a passion for organic farming. We start all our plants from seeds, so a knowledge of growing from seeds is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Growing produce and flowers
- Watering, weeding, preparing beds for planting, transporting, harvesting, starting plants from seeds.
- Potentially giving tours to girl scouts, homeschool and 4-H groups to teach them about organic farming.
- Talking to public and educating them during "pick your own" events.
Looking for someone to start in the Spring, around April. Flexible schedule. 20-30 hours a week. You would be working with a team of people so you can coordinate schedules to make sure that plants are watered, plants are getting in the ground in a timely manner, and plants are being harvested.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
