Helm Vision Group is an Ophthalmology/Optometry practice offering services in: Cataracts, Dry Eye, Glaucoma, Cornea Transplants, Blepharoplasty, Pterygium Surgery, and LASIK. We are currently seeking a careful Optical Lab Technician for full time employment. The Lab Technician supports the lab’s activities, ensuring that excellence and timely service criteria are met. The ideal candidate will have a background in Optics/Ocular lab and will demonstrate professionalism, exceptional dexterity and attention to detail, and have the ability to collaborate in a team work oriented environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Under general supervision of the Operations Manager, the Optical Lab Technician is responsible for the following but not limited to:

• Manufactures eyeglasses by cutting, edging, polishing, and grinding of the lenses to match the prescription written by the Optometrists or Ophthalmologists
• Shaping, customization, and assembly of lenses and frames and ensuring that the end product meets the highest standard of quality
• Eyewear & lens selection, fitting & dispensing tailored towards patients' needs
• Checks in All Lab jobs
• Organization of all the trays
• Frames adjustment and Repair
• Ensures precision on all finished products
• Scans All job labs to patient electronic charts
• Effectively and proactively answers patient order inquiries
• Compliance with confidential patient information and HIPAA regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have minimum 1 year experience
• Manual dexterity due to the nature of the work
• Strong and effective communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently
• Ensures accuracy of data entry
• Proficient Computer skills: Microsoft Programs and Electronic Health Record systems
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and customer service oriented
• Dependability and Reliability are imperative
• Bilingual English and Spanish Highly Desired
