Operator Job at UNIX Packaging
Purpose:
Operate machines in a safe and efficient way. To be cross trained on all equipment and machinery.
Qualifications:
Must be able to operate machinery properly and safely. Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.

Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibilities are to run and maintain fillers and other related equipment.
- Clean, set-up, operate and monitor equipment of the production line.
- Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks.
- Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of product.
- Make adjustments to Filler timing and filling, & check mat as needed.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
- Collect required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing.
- Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced.
- Will have working knowledge and experience with wrapper operations; watching for jams and effectively threading wrap to prevent cost downtime due to handler error.
- Complete cleaning checklist once line has completed run.
- Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and Follow SOP’s. Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
- The employee will be required to use all personal protective equipment provided by the company in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Learn and adhere to safety and security policies and procedures.
- Follow all sanitation and quality policies and procedures, and report any deficiencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Food Safety:
- Employee must follow GMP’s. Employee must follow all personal and food safety regulations at all times.
- Follow product specifications requirements
Food Regulation:
- Employees must follow allergen Management, food defense and work place safety.
Continuous Improvement:
- Employee will attend all annual trainings to maintain a safe work place and maintain food safety.
Food Quality:
- Follow CCP guidelines.
Reports to:
- Production Lead
Provision for Absence:
- Production Lead or other operators will cover the position in the event of an absence.
Training provided by:
- Human Resources and Production Manager
