Job Description
Job Profile:
The Cloud Operations Manager is responsible for managing the operations of FinOps and SecOps remediation in our Cloud platforms and will be laser focused on building a FinOps practice and streamlining the vulnerability management and remediation in our environments. This role will focus on administering, leading and motivating the direct team and Information Technology (IT) business partners to adopt and utilize FinOps and SecOps remediation practices. The Cloud Operations Manager has a holistic view on cloud solutions, including the storage, identity, governance, virtual networks, and computing in a cloud environment. Additionally, this role will also lead the maintenance, monitoring and operations of applications, infrastructure, system integration, and solutions utilizing vendor relationships and internal IT and business partners with guidance and direction.
The Cloud Operations Manager will own and solve problems within the Cloud Operations, FinOps and SecOps remediation Cloud environments they support. Additionally, this role will oversee the daily tasks of Cloud functions by producing security awareness, remediating the intermediate application issues during regular operations, and managing the operations of the build/support processes with the needs of evolving business by effectively understanding the changing technology. The Cloud Operations Manager also provides oversight and assistance across ongoing administration of security in the cloud (AWS and Azure Platform), including monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring availability and reliability across multiple providers and services.
Essential Job Functions:
Technical Knowledge – Coordinate and report operational metrics on a recurring basis (weekly/monthly/quarterly). Manage and optimize cloud costs in Azure and AWS, using tools such as Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer, Cloudability and similar tools. Ensure L1/L2 daily cloud operations support and monitoring. Patching and Vulnerability management for cloud resources and ensure these are addressed in a timely manner. Utilize Microsoft to help in solution shaping and AWS/Azure Cloud deployments architecture development, including documentation.
Process Improvement - Identify trends and assess opportunities to improve processes and execution in areas such as operations, automation, networking and security technologies in cloud and hybrid environments. Utilize Microsoft IAM products to understand the ways in which these services integrate with Cloud. Implement, manage and maintain at least two platforms in the following areas: Windows Desktop, Virtualization, Windows Server Operating Systems, Server hardware platforms, Telecom (Collaboration), Infrastructure Automation, or Firewall. Coordinate with management to ensure all operational, administrative, and compliance functions within the team are being carried out in accordance with regulatory standard methodologies. Delegate tasks and provide insights on various new advancements in the cloud space. Review cloud service types such as IaaS, PaaS and SaaS and associated monitoring tools for these services, and focus on state configuration.
Documentation - Create, review, and maintain documentation of deployments, systems, and procedures relating to job/team responsibilities. Produce documentation as requested for internal customers, audits and compliance purposes.
Participate in the CAB process. Report and present quarterly capacity analyses of licensing, equipment, and utilization. Establish and meet critical deadlines while prioritizing multiple activities and complex projects simultaneously. Identify training requirements and devise training programs to ensure operational readiness.

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements:
- Hybrid role, normal office environment.
- Will be required to support intermittent On-call coverage which may be outside of normal business hours, including weekends and possibly holidays.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Azure or AWS Certification: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, or AWS Certified Security - Specialty
- 5+ years of experience in a regulated industry, such as finance or banking.
- 3+ years of experience leading people in a professional setting.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud-based financial infrastructure, security, and compliance requirements, including PCI DSS, GDPR, and other relevant regulations.
- In-depth experience with Azure and AWS cloud offerings, including experience with migration, deployment, and management of cloud services.
- Experience with cloud security and compliance in both Azure and AWS environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, enkins, etc., in the context of Azure and AWS cloud environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing and operating cloud services in both Azure and AWS environments.
- Knowledge of various Azure and AWS services, such as IaaS, PaaS, Container Services Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking, and Identity and Access Management.
- Ability to manage and optimize cloud costs in Azure and AWS, using tools such as Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer, Cloudability and similar tools.
- CI/CD: Azure DevOps, Github, Ansible, Chef and similar tools.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A clear understanding of core Cloud Computing services, need to understand the basic functioning of Networking, Databases, Software, and Servers in the Cloud which also includes IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
- Proficient in one or more of the following areas: Windows Desktop, virtualization, Windows Server Operating Systems, Server hardware platforms in an enterprise environment, preferably A good Azure IP addressing schema provides flexibility, room for growth, and integration with on-premises networks (Subnetting/IP addressing, Traffic Filtering & Routing), Telecom (Collaboration), Infrastructure Automation, Firewall) and implement or manage/maintain at least two platform.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve results.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with other teams and stakeholders.
- Good understanding of core Cloud Computing services and expert knowledge in the functioning of Cloud Networking, Databases, Software, and Servers also Microsoft product knowledge associated with the components, and technologies. With a multi-cloud understanding and knowledge.
- Deep understanding of FinOps and building a FinOps practice.
- Deep understanding of SecOps Vulnerability Management.
- Understanding features and tools in Cloud for governance and compliance, for managing and deploying Cloud resources.
- The knowledge of core architectural components of AWS/Azure such as VMs, VMSS, Containers, Functions, App hosting, Vnet, APIM, API Gateways, APP Services, Private Network and Storage (With the skill of storage tools Azcopy and Storage Explorer etc.).
- Configure AWS/Azure resources with tools such as Portal, ARM, CLI, Cloud Shell and PowerShell, also the advance tools such as Ansible and Terraform for IaC which is directly associated to the automation aspect.
- Good understanding of Docker technologies, Containerization and Kubernetes.
- Good understanding of AWS/Azure DNS (Public or Private), On-Prem connectivity with resources such as VPN, WAN and Express route/Connect Direct.
- IT Automation and DevOps practices.
- Agile Development.
Typical Starting Range:
$130,800.00 - $237,100.00
Full Salary Range for position:
California:$150,400.00 - $296,400.00
Colorado:$130,800.00 - $249,000.00
New York:$143,800.00 - $296,400.00
Washington:$137,400.00 - $272,600.00
The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.
Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.
All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safety Time per calendar year at the beginning of each year and is prorated in the associate’s first year of employment.
Hired associates will be able to elect to purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
