Operations Management Trainees are expected to effectively lead and develop assigned employees to efficiently produce a high-quality product. They will work cross functionally with the Plant Manager, and Vice President of Operations in the day-to-day management of the production Process of the facility. This is a hands-on position that is heavily engaged in day-to-day production activities manufacturing millions of pounds of beef on an annual basis. Individuals in the trainee program will work with experienced employees to learn all aspects of Harvest (Barn, Hide-On, Hide-Off, and Variety Meats), Fabrication (Boning and Packaging), and Quality Assurance (GMPs, HACCP, SQF, SOPs, SSOPs, etc.).

Responsibilities:
- Work in different departments alongside supervisors and employees to learn, understand and positively impact production operations.
- Partner with other managers to plan and direct the work of the organization.
- Analyze Company reports to analyze efficiencies, profit and inventory activity.
- Manage daily production, yields, and downtime.
- Identify trends and recommend proactive or remedial action to manage business situations.
- Expertise in government statuettes, law and regulations and company policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Work with and through management to develop and implement actions that protect company assets and profitability or set policies and procedures.
- Train and develop management skills while leading and motivating others.
- Interpret, apply and/or enforce all company policies, programs, rules, regulations and safety rules in support of departmental and corporate goals for safety, quality and production.
- Active involvement in employee safety and ensuring overall safety in the workplace.
- Foster an environment conducive to achieving continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to build strong teams and interact at all levels of the plant, including front line employees.
- Attend or lead presentations, meetings, classes or training and create projects or presentations; take tests if applicable.
- Interact with vendors, suppliers or customers.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s Degree in operations or related field (Operations Management, Business Management, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Engineering, Agriculture, and Agriculture Business).
- 7-10+ years’ experience working in a food manufacturing facility.
- Prior lead or supervisory experience.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written communication with ability to interface effectively with customers and employees at all levels including corporate executives.
- Ability to relocate to any of the facilities throughout American Foods Group.
- Ability to maintain the technical and managerial skills required to effectively administer and manage production personnel and process.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing assignments.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to calculate yields, efficiencies, etc. and pass math test.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to communicate effectively (speak, read, and write) in Spanish.
- Protein processing industry experience.
