ABOUT THE POSITION

United for Respect is seeking an Operations Associate to join our Operations team, who are responsible for keeping our rapidly growing organization running smoothly so that we can fulfill our mission. This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting a team to develop and implement strategies and tactics to win economic stability and equality for those working at America's largest low-wage retail corporations.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Finance and Management

  • Manage and obtain signatures for consultant agreements.
  • In collaboration with the Finance and Ops teams, assist in the management of purchasing as well as credit card policies and processes.

Administrative

  • Review timesheets and report payroll hours for hourly staff to UFR’s Finance Department and/or Paychex.
  • Maintain an organizational filing system, including personnel, HR documentation and vendor files.
  • Be the first line of contact for tech requests, purchase and mail equipment to new or current staff.
  • Manage the onboarding of new staff by coordinating delivery and completion of paperwork with UFR’s Finance Department and/or Paychex; setting up internal accounts and systems; and coordinating the onboarding process and experience with the new hire’s manager.
  • Off-boarding departing staff in coordination with the staff member’s manager, the Ops team, and UFR’s Finance Department and/or Paychex.
  • Be the first line of communication for operational staff needs and requests.
  • Administration, including creation and management, of user accounts.
  • Create letters for review and approval (salary increase, employment verification, offer, completion of probationary period, department change, promotion, title change, etc.), manage and obtain signatures via DocuSign.
  • Assist in the performance management process by working with the Operations team and notifying managers of when evaluations are due.
  • Create and manage surveys for staff to find new efficiencies and improvements.

Operations/Event Support

  • Provide travel assistance and logistics for trips (actions, campaigns, conferences, convenings, retreats, etc.).
  • Ensure all logistics are taken care of, including food, per diem, accommodations, and transit, when applicable.
  • Coordinate with high level staff around organization strategy, organizing campaigns and staffing changes.
  • Provide assistance on implementing key organizational programs and campaigns.
  • Other Operations duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in operations, administration or finance.
  • Experience working with multiple digital tools to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Rigorous attention to detail and accuracy, experience and interest in learning to scale projects.
  • Commitment to intersectional social justice.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects.
  • Proven record of accomplishing successful results in operations, administration and financial management, preferably in complex organizations.
  • Data-driven with strong analytical and technical skills, proven record of accomplishment in developing metrics and reporting.
  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Highly flexible, adaptive, with a problem solving orientation.
  • Attuned to creating and promoting organizational excellence.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Experience in fostering a workplace culture centering diversity, equity and inclusiveness.
  • A demonstrated commitment to social and racial justice issues and understanding of challenges facing immigrant communities, communities of color, and low-and moderate income families, and an interest in deepening your commitment to economic, racial and gender justice.

Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000 annually depending on experience and location.
