Motor Equipment Repairman - Department of Public Works

Salary Range; $29.3555 hrly/$61,294.28 annually-$34.1988 hrly/$71,406.99 annually

The Town of Stoneham is seeking an individual to work in the Motor Equipment Repairman position. Performs skilled maintenance and repair work on automotive and certain electrical and mechanical equipment; all other work as required.

Duties include but not limited to: performing preventive maintenance for all vehicles and mechanical equipment either personally, through outside vendor. Operates a variety of diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric and air driven tools. Tests, services and repairs vehicles and mechanical equipment. As well as other duties as required or assigned. Performs all duties of a laborer and Motor Equipment Maintenance man.

.Candidates must possess:

• Valid Massachusetts Vehicle Operator’s License
• Class B- C.D.L. with Air Brake endorsement is required.
• Applicants possessing a CDL permit may apply but are required to obtain CDL license within six months after hire.

Pre-employment Requirements

The prospective employee must successfully complete a CORI (Criminal Offender Records Inquiry), physical examination, including a drug screening and submit a copy of their driving record. The Town reserves the right to run additional CORI and background checks as allowed under Massachusetts General Law.
