Primary Purpose: Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in industrial establishments.

1. Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.

2. Dismantle machines, using various types of hand tools and/or power tools.

3. Move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.

4. Assemble and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors, presses, tram rails, and other types of industrial equipment.

5. Construct foundation for machines using building materials, such as cement, wood, or steel.

6. Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bob.

7. Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structure.

Skills/Abilities:

• Must be able to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and other drawings and be able to transfer that information to their work.
• Must be able to use logical step-by-step procedures in work.
• Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl for various lengths of time.
