Staffworks Group is now hiring a 1st Class Aluminum Mig Pulse Welder to become an integral part of our team in Fall River, MA.

The Welder will use specialized equipment to weld and assemble new metal form. Must have a minimum of 5 years aluminum shipbuilding experience. Must be responsible, reliable, punctual and a courteous team player.

Weld test is required:

The weld test consists of 3 CJP weldments of 3/8” Plate oriented in the horizontal, vertical, and overhead position. All weldments are subject to 100% VT and then 100% RT (X-Ray).

This position pays $25-$28/hr based on experience.

Responsibilities:

· Ability to read and clearly understand blueprints

· Confined Space Aluminum Welding

· Clamp, hold, tack weld, heat bend, grind, or bolt components parts to obtain required configuration and positions for welding

· Must be able to use Air tools (Ratchet, die grinder, Hammer, dual air chuck, Pistol grip Impact wrench, grinders)

· Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials

· Examines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications

· Will lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to final assembly using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, rulers, jigs, templates, and tape measures

· Accurately and completely fills out required paperwork and submits to Production Manager

· Experience working in a physically demanding environment (shipboard, sub-assemblies, ladders, staging, etc.)

· Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry

· Tasks require repetitive sequences that include balancing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger manipulation, grasping, feeling, seeing, hearing, speaking, an acute sense of smell and exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects and/or lift objects
