A bit about us: We are known for being friendly and professional, passionate and knowledgeable about animals, attentive and trustworthy. Now the job details: This will be an ongoing position, not a short-term gig. The initial contract is 6 months, with the option to renew. As a part of the hiring process, we offer a trial period for you to shadow members of the team before commiting to the initial 6 month contract so we all have a chance to make sure it's a good fit.

(Note: our service area is Del Ray, Old Town, Belle Haven, and Potomac Yard Alexandria Virginia. Our service area is bike-able if you do not have a car.)

Work can include midday dog walks, dog-park visits, pet taxi, and cat care. There are additional opportunities to board in your home or do overnights in the client's home, as well as evening and weekend walks/kitty visits.

The ideal candidate should:
- Able to follow instructions, multi-task, work independently while problem solving
- Have a love and appreciation for animals and interest in learning behavioral and training techniques
- Be honest and reliable, eager to learn, positive attitude and good communication
- Midday walker positiion would be Monday-Friday from ~10am-3 p.m. You do not need to be available all 5 days, but would need to provide consistent availablity for specific days (example: Mondays and Thursdays from 11a-2pm)
- Enjoy exercise and being outdoors in all weather
- Have a reliable car & driver's license/insurance (our service area is relatively small so bike could work as well)
- Have a smart phone for daily communication/maps/scheduling
- Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
- Pass a background check
- Be over the age of 18

Pay is per walk, but averages $18-25/hr. Someone with open midday availability M-F who also does overnights/boarding would make upwards of $3k/month
