Medical Scheduler/Receptionist Job at Arch Staffing and Consulting
A local Grand Rapids, Michigan physician’s office is currently seeking a scheduler to handle phones and administrative office tasks. You will be working alongside a dedicated team of professionals to make a positive impact on our patient experience.
Hours of operation: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides excellent customer service and contributes to a patient’s overall satisfaction with the practice by answering all incoming calls and interacting with patients in a friendly, professional manner while ensuring confidentiality and protecting the patient’s right to privacy.
- Schedules and cancels appointments according to office guidelines.
- Enters new patient demographic and when possible, billing information into the computer.
- Creates telephone messages with correct and complete documentation for physician review.
- Retrieves messages from the prescription refill line and directs to the appropriate staff for action.
- Performs general office work, which includes working bumped list, changing the after-hours phone message when needed, sending outgoing mail, and sending labs/faxes.
- Assists staff handling referrals as needed.
- Adheres to all office policies and procedures and performs all other duties as assigned by the Office Manager or the Physicians.

Qualifications:
- Must have a working knowledge of computer software, office equipment and inventory.
- Proficient organization skills with the ability to maintain a neat and orderly work area.
Education/Experience:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- At least two (2) years’ experience working in a family practice office is preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Duties may include: light to moderate exertion of manual effort in transporting materials and equipment; lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing loads up to 25 pounds; prolonged sitting while viewing computer monitor or paperwork.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
