JOB PURPOSE
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations and dotted line reporting to Finance, the Biller will perform billing functions for the Center for Recovery and Wellness, primarily the outpatient services. Provide administrative support to the assigned site or program as needed.
SCOPE OF INFLUENCE
- Collaborates with EA Finance team in A/R functions and is responsible for maintaining claims and receivables reports for all billable services at CRW.
- Works closely with the Medical Billing Manager and Millin Billing Team in support of all billing functions at CRW
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support the billing team with all billing functions
- Review all Millin billing/AR reports for accuracy,
- Assist Millin by responding to inquiries on Issue Tracker, identify and resolve billing issues and follow up on denials if required
- Review weekly Billing files for accuracy
- Respond to A/R related queries and issues related to monthly billing reports
- Maintain detailed receivables reports for both Part-822 and Part-820 OASAS programs and Billing Manager of any billing related trends.
- Perform eligibility verification for all type of payors (Medicaid, MCOs, Medicare, Commercial) if required
- Follow up on updates and changes of rules and regulations pertinent to OASAS programs
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end-close, relating to all billing transactions and receivables at CRW including the preparation of reports and reconciliations.
- Track A/R claims submitted to Manage Care Plans and Medicaid and all other payors
- Perform monthly claims and receivables reconciliation and monitor any outstanding receivables
- Regularly interact with Finance to ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all receivables at CRW.
- Serve as liaison between CRW billing department and Finance as well as Millin RCM team (or other billing software)
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with the Administrative Manager in developing and maintaining a seamless accounting system for the client cash accounts for the residential program
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Knowledge
- College degree required; experience with medical billing, bookkeeping and accounting highly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and willingness and ability to learn new software required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Team-player, able to multi-task and handle challenging situations.
- Previous Medicaid, Medicare, and Private Insurance Billing experience required
- Knowledge and understanding of medical billing rules and regulations required
- Knowledge of OASAS and/or OMH/DOH regulations, APG methodology, Value Based Payments implementation preferred
- Ability to function independently, attend to detail and accuracy, work under pressure, and complete tasks on time
