Your Impact & What You’ll Do:

We are looking for detail-oriented, responsible, and charming Medical Receptionists/Medical Assistants to join the RapidDoc Urgent Care team! You will often be the first friendly face our patients see and will be an important part of the team in leaving a lasting impression.

Your role as the Medical Receptionist:

This role will require greeting patients and families professionally, with care and empathy. You will address patients in person and on the phone, answer their questions to the best of your ability, and/or seek clarification and instruction when needed. This role in many ways, can be thought of as the patient concierge—your role will aid in making every part of the patient’s care prior, during, and after their visit as pleasant, simple and clear as possible. You will manage overall patient flow through the waiting and check-in process, by registering all patients and maintaining accurate and complete patient accounts. This will include obtaining, recording, verifying, and updating demographics, insurance, eligibility, and financial information while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Additional duties also include copay collection, referral coordination, mail & fax management, rooming patients, assisting patients with their benefits questions, and may require obtaining basic vital signs. You will also provide avenues for patients to give reviews and feedback of their care.

Your additional role as the Medical Assistant:

The Medical Assistant will provide nursing support to the physician in their clinical duties, in addition to aiding in clinic management, and administration. Major duties include obtaining vital signs, recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms of life threatening emergencies, setting up and sanitizing exam rooms/instruments, managing patient flow, verifying and maintaining patient records, assisting with clinical procedures, administering nebulized, intramuscular and oral medications, collecting data including basic lab tests, EKG, urinalysis testing, etc. You must also have basic knowledge of medical diagnostic/therapeutic equipment and relevant procedures, maintaining, monitoring, and testing this equipment inventory, have knowledge of all safety requirements when handling bio-hazardous specimens or contaminated instruments. Your role will require inputting this data into an EMR.

We are looking for a team player that can function both independently in a fast-paced environment and intricately as part of a team. This role may eventually grow into a supervisory/management experience, overseeing some of the daily operations of the practice, including personnel, financial and clerical duties.

Working Conditions:

This job is center-based, and requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs are required.

Position Type: Full-time

Shift Length: Varies; 4-8 hour shifts

Shift Types:

Day Shift:

Monday to Friday 10am - 6pm

or

Night and Weekend Shift:

Monday through Friday 6pm -10pm & Saturday/Sunday 9am-7pm

Pay: $20-22/ hour (depending on prior experience)

Education / Experience / Required Licensure:

The following is required:

  • Graduation/Certification from accredited California Medical Assistant school/program - Required
  • Possess CPT-I venipuncture certification
  • Must have BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.
  • 1-year experience minimum
  • Must have familiarity with HIPAA policies

The following is preferred:

  • Prior EMR experience
  • Peripheral IV placement certification
  • Previous experience in chart auditing, CPT coding and ICD-9 review, and health insurance knowledge
  • At least 2 years experience
  • Multilingual with ability to speak Spanish, Korean, or other languages
  • Prior concierge, customer service or other hospitality experience

All employees must be fully vaccinated. All patients are required to wear a face mask. Clinical staff must wear a face mask during scheduled shifts.
