Medical Assistant Job at HINSDALE ORTHOPAEDIC ASSOCIATES
Hinsdale Orthopaedics, a division of Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, is currently hiring a Medical Assistant to work with Orthopaedic Surgeons at our Hinsdale, Elmhurst, Western Springs, and Westmont offices. depending on the Surgeon's schedule. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Patient evaluation and treatment activities within the clinic setting
- Ensuring that all medical records / x-rays / reports / forms, etc. related to the patient’s visits are available on the appropriate unit prior to escorting the patient to the exam room
- Providing patient care as per physician’s direction
- Assisting physician with the exam / treatment process
- Monitoring and ensuring the accurate completion of patient charge tickets
- Reinforcing patient / family education
- Ensuring the adequacy of necessary supplies and cleanliness within the exam rooms and clinic area
Education and training requirements include Medical Assistant certification, CPR certification, knowledge of medical terminology, working knowledge of computers and computer software programs, excellent verbal and written communication skills, good organizational and technical skills and excellent people skills. Prior Orthopaedic Medical Assistant experience of at least six months to one year are preferred.
