Responsibilities

You’d join a talented team dedicated to pioneering new technologies, consoles, devices, delivery mechanisms and conditional access systems. We would incorporate your insights in designing more effective and secure platforms and strategies for media distribution.

Every single day as a Media Security Systems Engineer is different! On any one day you might:

• Provide security expertise and guidance for technology teams across Distribution Technology, including Piracy Technology and Emerging Technology so we can secure new ways for media to be consumed.
• Collaborate on projects for internationally recognized brands like ABC, ESPN, Lucasfilm and Marvel.
• Organize the results of these evaluations and effectively communicate both the results and impact to the underlying technology strategy;
• Research and streamline new technologies in media security, distribution and consumer devices;
• Perform hands-on evaluation of specifically identified technologies – emerging technologies (4K, HDR, etc.), distribution technologies (P2P, OTT, etc.), consumer technologies (STBs, Game Consoles, software,) etc.;
• Participate in security reviews, threat modeling, and incident response investigations;
• Design and maintain test cases, scripts and custom test tools for evaluations while you document findings from evaluations; and
• Stay abreast of trends, products, frameworks, applications, threat landscapes, and provide concise summary of the findings to the team;

Education

You have a Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of vocational or professional experience in Information Security, Software/Hardware Engineering, Computer Science, Security Research.

Basic Qualifications

Please apply if you have:

• 3+ years experience with meaningful information security research, software and/or hardware interrogation, and familiarity with content distribution via the internet;
• 3+ years programming in Object Oriented (OO) environment (Java, C++, etc.);
• Demonstrated experience with security research tools
• Skilled understanding and ability to interact with fuzzing, compiling, and analyzing tools, programs, and techniques.
• Proven experience with network analysis tools (e.g. Wireshark, Fiddler, etc.);
• Knowledge of video distribution systems (OTT, Cable, Satellite, IPTV, etc.);
• Skilled understanding of Digital Rights Management (DRM) based systems (e.g., Google Widevine, Microsoft PlayReady, Apple FairPlay, etc.);
• Strong understanding of mobile operating systems and security environments (iOS/Android);
• Informed understanding of network protocols, data delivery and security principles (PKI, RSA, etc.);
• Solid knowledge of the security model on one or more platforms (e.g., browsers, mobile devices), cryptography, and network security

Additional Qualifications

It would be nice if you also have:

• 2+ years in any of the following areas - security engineering, application security, reverse-engineering, and/or mobile security;

This position currently reports to Manager, Security Governance & Content Protection.

The hiring range for this remote position is $96,400.00 to $150,600.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
