Who We Are

TutorNerds is a local tutoring company in Orange County focused on providing high-quality, in-home tutoring and test prep for all subjects and all grade levels. We are in need of experienced math and science tutors who are motivated to work with our growing company.

It’s our mission to help every student define their own academic success. TutorNerds started in 2010 in Irvine and has since become the premier in-home tutoring and test prep company in OC. In particular, we offer K-12 and college tutoring for all major academic subjects (math, science, English and writing, history, foreign language, and more), test preparation for all major exams (SAT, ACT, AP, ISEE, SSAT, MCAT, LSAT, GRE, GMAT, and more), and college admissions consulting.

We individually match tutors and students based on schedule, location, and academic subject. Therefore, you would only be tutoring subjects you are already comfortable with (e.g. math and science). You conduct sessions yourself based on the student’s needs - we do not have a set curriculum. : )

Requirements:

• Previous tutoring and/or teaching experience
• Bachelor's degree (*college students acceptable if experienced*)
• Available 6-10 hours per week (ideally weekday afternoons and evenings)
• Reliable transportation (tutors drive 5-10 miles for each client on average)
• Professionalism - must be punctual and communicate well with clients and staff
• Enthusiastic and engaging personality - the experience for your students should be fun and enjoyable!

We welcome applicants with experience in any academic areas, though the majority of our students are in grades K-12. Local candidates only please - popular areas are Irvine, Newport, Laguna, Anaheim, Huntington Beach, Orange, and surrounding cities.
