Job Summary
The Marketing Manager assumes a broad range of responsibility across all elements of the marketing department -- plans and directs all marketing activities; includes marketing strategy and program development, trade promotion, account support, customer engagement, social media program management/development, metrics development/deployment, and marketing personnel development. The person will develop and oversee brand development for its proprietary brands and corporate identity. The candidate will work collaboratively and cross functionally with Business, Technology, Corporate Communications, Agencies of Record and third party vendors to identify the unmet needs, goals and opportunities to drive revenue growth for PetroChoice and its brands; work with internal teams to create a seamless e-commerce platform; develop the capabilities of the members of the marketing organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy Development: develop and implement new and integrated marketing campaign strategies to meet revenue and growth objectives. Includes brand communication/ advertising / PR /social media and consumer insights.
Portfolio Management: lead the development, planning and implementation of PetroChoice’s proprietary brands and all portfolio management. This would include product formulation refreshes, upgrades, conversions; messaging development and creative execution; project management of the logistics from development through roll-out; coordination with all key stakeholders to assure products are rolled out seamlessly, on time, and on budget.
Marketing programs execution: Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration. Develop and disseminate marketing materials e.g. products, bulletins, newsflash, newlines. Manage media placements and channels (e.g. press releases, interviews, PR opportunities). Manage production of marketing materials, including leaflets, posters, flyers, e-newsletters, on-line videos. Work alongside other marketers and content marketers to help distribute content that educates and entertains our audience and supports marketing goals. Explore new ways to engage and identify new social networks to reach existing/new customers.
Customer insight development: Lead development, accumulation, and conversion of customer insights into executable and effective marketing programs. Design and deploy appropriate insight generation tools (e.g. on-line surveys/interviews, customer interviews in on-line, face-to-face, written formats).
Customer program engagement: Drive development and execution of customer communications campaigns. Assure marketing programs drive differentiated and compelling brand equity communication. Leverage on-line tools to deepen bonds with customers, appeal to prospects, striving to convert them into active advocates. Build and manage company’s social media presence, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn. Lead continuous improvement of customer communication programs. Organize and oversee global customer events, conferences, seminars, receptions, and exhibitions. Maintain customer database. Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about Our Company, competitors, and/or industry, both from existing leads/customers and from brand new audiences. Run regular social promotions and campaigns and track their success (e.g. Twitter chats, LinkedIn discussions, etc.).
Marketing metrics management: Oversee implementation of marketing metrics. Drive continuous evolution of metrics as business requirements evolve. Deploy combination of both hard metrics (e.g. ROMI, sales productivity, pipeline health) as well as soft (e.g. sales force activity metrics). Evaluate, recommend and deploy suitable CRM platform.
Project Management: Work with cross-functional teams (e.g. Information Technology, engineering, sales) in the successful implementation of marketing programs. Communicate marketing message/agenda internally, orchestrate internal information gathering and determine best approach to external positioning and communication.
Personnel Development: Coach, support and develop direct reports. Conduct annual performance and salary reviews and manage recruiting process.
Special projects and other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Required Experience, Education, and Qualities
Years of experience and education: 5+ years of Marketing Management experience in a B2B environment. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or a related field; MBA preferred
Marketing technical knowledge and commercial savvy: Highly developed knowledge of marketing strategy and campaign development (e.g. trade marketing/promotional marketing; advertising/media planning; customer engagement) Adept at leveraging social media platforms. Good project management/organization and planning skills. Thinks and operates from an overall business standpoint.
Communication skills: Highly developed ability to interact with multiple audiences, facilitating group discussions and connections. Build/write reports, business correspondence and create presentations. Effectively presents data, analysis & informations to peers across the organization.
Numerical skills: Well versed with fundamental business math, interpreting P&Ls, margins, operational and sales metrics. Fully understands basis and appropriate interpretation particularly of sales and marketing metrics.
Reasoning ability: Highly developed ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Highly developed ability to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Highly developed ability to make decisions and recommendations.
Creativity and adaptability: Able to think outside norms and propose novel solutions. Challenges the status quo. Quick to make plan adjustments as business requirements change.
Leadership and teamwork skills: Highly developed ability to lead teams, set goals and managed across a matrix organization
Interpersonal/people skills: Highly developed ability to successfully interact with a wide and varied range (intellectual and behavioral) of people while fostering a cooperative working environment.
Computer literacy: Must have a highly developed strong background in MS Office Suite - - Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Disgital and Social Media Marketing, Salesforce CRM, Salesforce marketing Cloud, Salesforce B2B Commerce platforms.
Travel requirement: willingness to travel to support regional sales meetings, customer meetings, campaigns & trade show implementations
