JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineering Drafter
DEPARTMENT: Engineering
REPORTS TO: Production Manager
SUMMARY: Component Creation and Drafting for Electrical and Mechanical systems
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Translates part/component concepts, requirements and information into images; Uses feedback to modify designs; Applies design principles; Demonstrates attention to detail.
- Specifies, designs, analyzes, simulates, prototypes, builds, tests, documents, and releases to manufacturing required electrical or mechanical systems.
- Organizes, plans, tracks, and resolves design problems associated with product performance in engineering, manufacturing, and the field.
- Provides assistance with system level architectural design as well as the development of specifications, schedules, and test plans related to product development activities and product upgrades.
- Works closely with Engineers to develop, design, draw and revise projects for seamless transition into production.
- Interfaces with appropriate departments to ensure design specifications.
- Incorporates required design changes to address problem resolution.
- Interacts and collaborates effectively with internal and external team members to assure needs of the projects are met.
- Investigates and thoroughly understands developments in electrical or mechanical designs and computer technology.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
- Two to four years related experience or equivalent.
- Proficient on computer assisted design/drafting (Inventor a must)
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Acute attention to detail
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
- Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method.
- Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in the applicable area of engineering/technical specialization.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Occasionally/Frequently/Continually required to stand/walk/sit
- Occasionally/Frequently/Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Occasionally/Frequently/Continually exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)
- Occasionally/Frequently/Continually work near moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally/Frequently/Continually exposure to outside weather conditions
