Manufacturing Engineer Job at Itron
Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Implements solutions that conform to lean manufacturing standards. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
- Initiate changes to reduce the total cost to manufacture Itron’s products, while maintaining or improving the value of our products to our customers.
- Assist and mentor manufacturing and maintenance technicians.
- Review and analyze existing manufacturing facilities, tools, processes, standards and techniques.
- Utilize statistical tools to resolve in depth manufacturing and quality problems.
- Prepare plans, schedules and budgets for manufacturing engineering tasks.
- Specify, procure and implement new equipment to support new products.
- Maintain updated work instructions and procedures.
- Recommend and implement process and product changes to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Develop and maintain accurate project timelines for new and existing programs.
Experience
- 2+ years of previous related professional experience in a manufacturing environment
- Automation knowledge
Education
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience. Preferred degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
