MANAGER, PROJECT MANAGEMENT Job at Smithville Communications
Smithville, an established and trusted provider of Internet, Voice, Security, and Enterprise data services, is seeking a Manager for the Project Management department. Recognized nationally as a Top 100 broadband provider, we pride ourselves on our ability to provide our customers with excellent customer service and prompt solutions to their needs. While the company has grown to be Indiana's largest privately held telecommunications company, its core family-focused values make it unique. Smithville maintains more than 3,000 miles of high-capacity fiber in the state of Indiana and a 100 Gigabit fiber ring with full redundancy that serves large-scale businesses and enterprise-level operations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Under the general direction of the President, the Manager is responsible for leading the Smithville Project Management team in providing project management for company initiatives, ensuring operations and infrastructure are readied and in place for project launches. In this position, the Manager will develop and implement the department’s standards for initiating and executing projects. The Manager will spend approximately 60% of the time managing projects, 15% of the time supporting and managing the team, and 25% monitoring overall company project resources, forecasting project impact, monitoring project performance, and communicating with leaders and key stakeholders.
This individual will be required to make crucial decisions daily. Decisions will include but are not limited to: personnel allocation (staffing resources), material resource allocation (what equipment/materials are needed versus what is required), change management (altering projects as necessary to accommodate required scope, budget, timeline, or resource changes), defining project tasks (determining what tasks are needed to complete specific objectives), and financials (adjusting as necessary to meet scope).
