Maintenance Technician Job at Liberty Diversified International

As a Maintenance Technician with Liberty Plastics, you will serve as a key member of the Maintenance team, working collaboratively and proactively on maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues and repair of machinery including mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment throughout the Plant.

This full-time position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and is located at Liberty Plastics manufacturing plant in Baldwyn, Mississippi.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine maintenance, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnose problems and replace or repair parts and adjust as necessary.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment and facilities.
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric and volt meters as well as material handling equipment while in performance of duties.
  • Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Communicates with operators while troubleshooting equipment.
  • Support building, infrastructure and grounds to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment for all
  • Support with all parts and tool inventories to ensure necessary repairs are completed within minimal equipment downtime.
  • Other duties as assigned.

STANDARD DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to work alone and unsupervised at times
  • Ability to weld, cut, braze and fabricate metal
  • Must possess solid mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools and multi meter testing equipment
  • Must be proficient in reading hydraulic, mechanical and electrical prints
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with single and three phase AC/DC motor systems up to 480 volts
  • Must have experience with servo drives and motors
  • Must be able to troubleshoot problems with electrical systems involving thermocouples, temperature controllers, and solid-state relays
  • Must have experience repairing and replacing mechanical drive components including bearings, chain sprockets and gear reducers
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with coworkers and leadership teams.
  • Conduct work in a safe manner, in compliance with OSHA, company policies and procedures.
  • Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practices and enforces safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the organization.
  • Actively participates in facility committees, events and/or meetings (i.e., Community Involvement Team, Environmental and Safety committee, etc.)

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Demonstrated Strong electrical and instrumentation proficiency with an aptitude for Mechanical.
  • Self-motivated with great follow-up skills and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Strong decision-making ability, including the ability to anticipate problems, develop contingency plans and act quickly to resolve issues.
  • Ability to communicate with technical specialists and to interpret technical/blueprint drawings and specification documents.
  • Very strong attention to detail/commitment to accuracy
  • Manufacturing process knowledge
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts in an 24/7 operation

  • Must be able to walk for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to reach and grasp up to 6+ hours per shift
