JOB SUMMARY

Manage and administer all equipment maintenance activities in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. Coordinates and develops maintenance of cargo handling shore equipment and other company rolling stock. Create maintenance operating budget and provide recommendations for capital expenditure on cargo handling equipment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish maintenance standards on all equipment in accordance with company standards and develop and maintain a preventative and reactive maintenance program to maintain these standards.
• Coordinate and make recommendations for all purchases of maintenance parts and services and establish purchasing procedures to assure responsible and efficient procurement.
• Maintain inventory standards and requirements and administer parts requirements in accordance with operational downtime allowances affordable and effective preventative maintenance.
• Develop training requirements and procedures for all maintenance personnel and establish equipment spot checking guidelines.
• Coordinate general work scheduling and workforce requirements to meet maintenance needs and assure high levels of productivity within facility and operational constraints.
• Administer procedures for emergency maintenance assistance to Tropical personnel and agents in maintaining Tropical shore equipment stationed in the Leeward and Windward Islands.
• Coordinate maintenance services with operational needs and regularly communicate with Terminal Manager.
• Assist the Marine Department in vessel repairs and provide the manpower and materials needed.
• Perform all other duties as requested.

EDUCATION:

Associate Degree in Business Administration.

EXPERIENCE:

Seven years in equipment maintenance including supervisory and leadership experience.

LICENSE:

Valid Local Driver's License. Valid Passport

TRAVEL:

10% travel to other Tropical locations.

PHYSICAL:

Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 8 hours per day. Mobility required to oversee operations activities and to perform inspection duties. Ability to frequently twist, bend, read, squat, kneel and climb heights up to 15 feet, occasionally must lift and carry up to 80 lbs. Able to withstand occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions. Ability to travel in various modes of transportation (e.g. automobile, airplane, train etc..)
