Summary:
The Facilities Director is responsible for managing all aspects of maintenance for the community; Assisting in planning, organizing, implementing and maintaining maintenance services.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinates and/or performs maintenance and repair required to keep the building in good working condition according to the preventative maintenance program and work orders.
- Negotiates contracts and ensures outside services are properly completed and supervised in accordance with contracts
- Regularly inspects equipment and buildings to ensure a safe and comfortable environment
- Ensures that work areas are clean, free of hazardous conditions and that all tools and supplies are properly stored
- Ensures compliance with fire and safety codes, including interacting with fire, building and safety inspectors
- Responds to and is available for emergency calls from the Community
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possess technical knowledge and mechanical ability to perform maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment generally used in a health care setting
- Ability to plan, direct, supervise, coordinate and evaluate the work of others
- Good communication and organization skills
- Ability to use Word processing software, spreadsheet software, e-mail and the Internet
- Ability to follow all OBRA, OSHA and L&I requirements ensuring personnel and resident safety at all times
- Ability to plan, direct, supervise, coordinate and evaluate the work of others
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Ability to pass DSHS background check, required
Education and Experience:
- 5 years of facilities maintenance of multiple building trades and/or, other related training experience required; Facilities maintenance in a health-care setting preferred.
