The primary purpose of the MaineCare Specialist/Business Office Assistant position is to work closely with residents and families in processing application and annual reviews for MaineCare (Medicaid) insurances. This role helps to support the Business Office Manager by ensuring that applications and annual reviews are submitted timely, payment plans have been established, and payments are collected. Additionally, this individual will assist with many administrative office tasks including insurance verifications, issuing a daily census of residents, bank deposits, payment receipts and collections.
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assists residents and their families in obtaining and completing a MaineCare application (and/or re-application).
Work closely with DHHS to ensure efficient submission of all necessary information to establish coverage.
Keep interested parties updated to MaineCare application status throughout an individual’s application process.
Manage MaineCare annual review deadlines.
Travel to area DHHS office as needed to deliver application materials.
Manage the daily census report form and disseminate the information to applicable departments/organizations.
Process resident trust deposits and withdrawals in the absence of the Business Office Manager.
Insurance verifications.
Other tasks may be assigned as deemed necessary by the Business Office Manager or by the Administrator.
