Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Batch Front Line Leader to join our Ashland LLC, Specialty ingredients business at our Calvert City, Kentucky location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the manufacturing function. This position will report to the Batch Operations Manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Ensure personnel Safety and Environmental stewardship requirements are always attained.
• Learn production area logistics and unit operations for the assumption of ownership.

Regarding plant performance

• Troubleshoot processes and equipment.
• Lead, Support, Coach up to 26 Chemical Operators (6/shift) in a team-based High Performance work organization environment, to achieve efficient operations, focusing on FPQ, equipment reliability and other cost issues.
• Provide positive performance coaching and communication with hourly employees.
• Function as a liaison between departments, i.e., other production areas, maintenance, laboratory, engineering, etc.
• Coordinate raw material and intermediate product movements.
• Coordinate maintenance activities including the issuance of Hazardous Work Permits

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

• A minimum of High School Diploma
• 3-5 years chemical plant operating experience
• Demonstrated positive leadership and coaching skills with a cooperative “can-do” attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good technical and mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to identify critical issues and formulate action plans.
• Resolve conflicts through problem resolution skills.

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

• Prior supervisory experience highly desired
