We are looking for an individual with a major in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or equivalent. This position enhances the lives of seniors through the seven wellness dimensions (physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, vocational, emotional, and environmental). As a Life Enrichment Coordinator, this position teaches group exercise classes geared towards functional strength and fall prevention. This individual will also lead a variety of activities and events geared towards the seven wellness dimensions (Trivia, poetry, garden club, travel presentations, general presentations etc.).

Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

PURPOSE OF POSITION /SUMMARY

Under general supervision of the Director of Life Enrichment, this position works alongside the Life Enrichment Coordinator to plan and prepare a variety of fitness classes for residents in all levels of living. Leads a variety of fitness classes based on the needs of the residents, oversees the fitness center and may oversee the personal trainers (contract and/or employees). In general be able to lead a variety of activities for all seven wellness dimensions. This position will also assist with the necessary communication materials needed to announce the life enrichment programing to the community. Team members working in the Senior Living division may directly or indirectly be exposed to infectious diseases and/or biological hazards. Performs other job duties as assigned.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Develop, plan and lead classes for the physical wellness dimension community wide. Provide a variety of land and water based exercise classes emphasizing in fall prevention (strength/power, endurance, balance and flexibility). Instruct individual and group exercise classes. Provide a safe exercise environment based on the ACSM guidelines. May oversee and schedule personal trainers, monitors for efficiency, quality of training and specific personal training program cards.
• Develop, plan and lead classes for the other six wellness dimensions (Intellectual, Spiritual, Vocational, Environmental, Emotional and Social) for the community as well as assist with planning the monthly calendar.
• Gather data for participation tracking, annual life enrichment assessments and the senior fitness test. Seeks feedback from participants and team members to ensure that programs are meeting the expectations and needs of the residents.
• Assists with new resident orientation and initial assessments to the Life Enrichment program. Conducts annual life enrichment assessments along with inputting and graphing the data.
• Attend in services and/or workshops as directed by the Director and display behavior that supports the Robson Ready culture.
• Assist with other tasks as directed by the Director

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/COMPUTER/TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Min 1 year experience working in the fitness field or recent graduate with
• Bachelor’s degree in an exercise field, i.e. Kinesiology, Exercise Science etc.
• Preferred CPR and First Aid; willing to obtain certifications.
• Preferred Certifications: National Recognized Fitness Certifications or willing to obtain certifications.
• ACSM Guidelines for personal training.
• Computer experience in Word, Publisher, Excel etc.
• Use of various types of equipment and technology: computer, smart devices, fitness equipment etc.
