We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to join our Bankruptcy team. The successful candidate will be able to provide assistance during all phases of the legal process including client management, scheduling, interviewing, document collection, hearing preparation, motions, and records review as needed. This is a newly added position due to the growth in our caseload.

The ideal candidate MUST be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and must be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
This is a full-time job, so you MUST be able to work *in the office* for 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with clients, gathering necessary information to begin building a case
- Conduct initial in-take process and gather detailed information for group of attorneys
- Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, work with clients
- Maintain case progress information
- Obtain and organize client documents
- Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
- Provide administrative support to lawyer and enhance office effectiveness
- Write and file basic legal documents and correspondence
- General administrative duties, such as answering phones, expense reports, and other tasks as needed
- Assist with Firm's social marketing efforts
- Organize all legal documents in a confidential way.
Skills:
- Proven working experience as a Legal Assistant
- Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
- Computer and legal database software experience
- Investigative mind and strong research skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
- Excellent secretarial and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication and research skills
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
