Position Overview
The Learning Operations Specialist is responsible for the overall coordination and execution of Becker’s Exam Review or Continuing Education courses (courses are offered either in self-study, live virtual, live classrooms, or simulations. The Learning Operations Specialist hires, trains, schedules, and supervises the activities of the Course coordinators.
The role also schedules and coordinates the Academic Teaching Assistants (ATAs). This individual is responsible for preparing classrooms (virtual or live), installing and testing equipment on a regular basis to minimize problems, assisting with answering student questions, working with student issues related to Client Services. The role also performs organizational, clerical, and ad-hoc duties as needed.
Position Requirements & Major Responsibilities
Learning Operations Specialists will be hired to either support Becker’s Exam Review Products (CMA or CPA) or Becker’s Continuing Education Product (CPE).
The following duties are specific to all Learning Operations Specialists:
  • Hire, train, and schedule Course Coordinators
  • Approve Course Coordinator time sheets
  • Provide feedback coaching to Course Coordinators
  • Execute payment of Course Coordinator invoices
  • Schedule ATA’s according to the matrix provided by the faculty team
  • Execute payment of ATA invoices
  • Execute payment and approval of faculty invoices
  • Provide classroom management including day-of-event support including:
  • Making phone calls to back-ups if primary support (ATA’s or Course Coordinators) does not show
  • Collaborate with instruction team to resolve classroom related issues
  • Acts as a liaison with Client Services regarding classroom schedule activations and student enrollment.
  • Acts as liaison with Client Services and Finance to provide analytics as assigned.
  • Acts as a liaison with the customer service team to ensure all student issues are resolved in a timely manner.
The following duties are specific to Learning Operations Specialists that will support Becker’s Exam Review Specific Products (CPA or CMA):
  • Send course communications including welcome emails and schedule reminders to instructors/presenters, ATA’s, Course Coordinators or students and creates ad-hoc reports for instructors and management as needed.
  • Perform course attendance and schedule management (monitoring class size for when to add additional ATAs, posting class schedule, removing class schedule, etc.)
  • Acts as a liaison with site coordinators to secure dates, space and unique items as needed
  • Maintains and monitors all instructional materials to ensure adequate supplies for each class and orders and distributes student material/supplies as assigned.
  • Installs and tests equipment to ensure smooth operation during classes and minimize technical issues.
  • Ensures all Becker hardware and materials have a secured storage area and is safeguarded during class.
  • Attends selected classes to assist with student questions, registration issues, and verify student identity.
  • Responsible for management and submission of the student evaluations and response cards at classroom.
  • Performs the Customer Care role as needed for additional support.
  • Makes calls and emails students when classroom or course changes occur.
The following duties are specific to Learning Operations Specialists that will support Becker’s Continuing Education Product (CPE):
  • Manual grading of CPE live events and managing partial credit student questions and B2B requests for partial grading of live events
  • Coordinates virtual events
  • Provides QA for courses to sure execution success at various intervals (72-hour, 24-hour and actual morning/day of event)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Associate’s degree considered with a combination of relevant experience
  • At least 3-4 years supervisory (preferably with part-time or contractor employees) and general office experience required. Experience working in remote environment and virtual training environment strongly desired.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required.
  • Problem resolution required.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of students and resolve problems diplomatically in a timely manner.
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience required and audio/visual troubleshooting skills desired.
  • Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a team player, willing to share and exchange.
  • Must be willing to travel in a defined regional area (specific to Becker’s Exam Review CPA Products).
