Job Title: Lead Field Installation (12V) Technician

Location: based in Texas, near airport; 100% Travel

Project length: 12/31/2023 (will renew in 2024)

Position Overview

The TSL is a traveling customer-facing role with primary duties of deploying 12 volt technology solutions in police fleet vehicles. In addition to installs, the TSL will provide day-to-day direction to the employees and contractors while maintaining a professional attitude and strong focus on total implementation experience.

What you’ll do at Insight

• Lead a team of installer technicians and site operations, while also performing installs on police vehicles
• Provide initial onboarding training for the proper installation and use of client’s hardware and software
• Conduct final quality check of all installed equipment
• Conduct training sessions with customer technical points or contact and end users on client’s specific product applications.
• Provide install guidance/assistance as required
• Provide troubleshooting assistance and escalation on issues
• Validate the quality of 12V DC sub-contractor installations
• Serve as a SME for low voltage electrical systems and light mechanical work (removing lower dash, panels, airboxes, batteries etc)
• Provide your own tools - EG: (wrenches, sockets, wire cutters/strippers, portable soldering iron, portable drill, etc.)
• Demonstrate competence in troubleshooting which includes use of tools such as a multimeter

What you’ll need to join Insight

• 3+ Years of advanced computer network implementation including systems software, Windows operating systems and applications software, hardware, and configurations, (A+, Network + or equivalent preferred)
• Experience working on 12 volt wiring within police vehicles.
• Experience with 12 volt wiring and installations in other emergency vehicles (fire trucks, ambulances, SWAT, etc.) is a plus
• Be comfortable working with vehicle electrical systems and know the basics of working safely around 12 volt technology.
• Adapt to changes in priorities
• Know proper methods of soldering electrical wires and crimp connections
• Strong acumen for network cabling and network devices (basic networking principles)
• Cradle point router or equivalent configuration knowledge a plus
• Excellent customer service skills. Polite, professional, well-spoken
• Reliable personal transportation
• Work both independently and in a team
• Other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements

This role requires 100% travel, in and out of state, often spending 3-4 nights per week away from home for assignments where it is not practical to drive and work an 8 hour shift. Likely the candidate will be away for a 5 day work week (Monday through Friday).
