Position Title: Active Youth Coach (formerly Kids Zone)

Reporting To: Active Youth Programming Supervisor and/or General Manager

Job Description:


As a member of the Active Youth program, it is our job to engage, create and supervise the activities of all assigned children in the Kid's Zone area. Safety, fun and maintaining a clean and healthy place for all children in our care is the top priority.


Requirements:

  • 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Current CPR
  • Babysitting experience with children ranging from 6 months through 11 years of age.


Skills:


  • Six months - 12 year old childcare experience preferred.
  • Infant CPR and First Aid preferred.
  • Patience and understanding that all children are unique and each grow mentally and physically at different rates.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Energetic and Friendly.
  • An understanding or knowledge of state babysitting rules.
  • Registered with the State Child Care registry – preferred*


Responsibilities:

  • Complete all PNW required On-boarding Training, Documents, as it pertains to the Youth Active job requirements.
  • Follow all Emergency Procedures established (evacuation, blood borne pathogen, hazard communication).
  • Ensure safe well-being of all children in care.
  • Follow all childcare legal procedures.
  • Adhere to State mandatory reporter guidelines (if Team Member is part of the State Registry).
  • Creativity - Create fun, and age-appropriate activities. This may include arts and crafts, physical activities, games.
  • Follow approved lesson plan and curriculum.
  • Provide a nurturing, and inclusive environment.
  • Ability to comfort distressed children of all ages.
  • Follow all cleaning and sanitization procedures of Kids Zone room, furniture, toys and supplies. Utilize Active Youth janitorial checklist and complete each shift.
  • Ensure documentation is maintained – including registers, ratios, agreements.
  • Follow all check in and out procedures.
  • Ensure payment policies are adhered to.
  • Follow all policies contained within the Employee Handbook.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical effort required for daily duties include lifting children, weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting & prolonged standing and walking. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 45+ pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts the noise level in the environment is occasionally loud.
